                                                    8:00a.m.- 4:00p.m.


Leave WOU at 8:00a.m.
Spend the morning (9:30-11:00a.m.) on the Oregon Coast with McKenzie Purdom, Lori Quay, & Jillian Brenner from the Oregon Recess Adventure School 
for a hike at Beverly Beach in Newport, Oregon! Discover how to use natural materials with your class. Touch ancient fossils, explore unique properties of sand, water wildlife, & discover a variety of native plants. Practice inquiry techniques & leave feeling inspired to share your new outdoor skills with you students. 
 
Return to WOU for lunch (provided) and take part in an afternoon workshop (1:00-4:00p.m.) with Cindy Ryan, WOU Early Childhood faculty
                                     Bringing the Outside in and the Inside Out: Nature-Based Learning in Early Childhood 
                                                     Set II (CKC-Learning Environments & Curriculum; Special Needs)
Join in this activity packed workshop where you will learn about nature-based learning in early childhood where we will bring inside activities to the outdoors and outside learning into our classrooms. Learn what nature-based learning means and how to implement developmentally appropriate best practices for children of all abilities both inside and outside the classroom.
